Still think that war, famine and breakdown of our current civilisation is the most likely outcome within 15 years.
I miss you on here Ad. On a related note, I wonder where the people who thought civilisation would end over the next 15 years used to let people know over the last couple of millenia? I know that the net is the place to do it now, and that a bell and a sandwich board was the method in the 1920s, but have a bit of a knowledge gap as to how people have done it at all other times. Do you know Ad? For example, how did people in the 1970s who thought civilisation would come to an end in 15 years air their views?
In terms of the OP, I think actual house prices will about the same, or possibly a little bit more, in five years time as they are now. I.e. about £160,000 to £170,000 for the average house.0 -

No idea mate.
On the issue of me not being on here much, real life has grabbed me over the last few months, life's turned into a bit of a clusterf*ck in a funny kind of way, mainly due to woman issues and the girl's ex being a perfect stand in for Norman Bates lol.
Much more fun than bloody house prices, although I miss the guys on here... is Mewbie or Mr B back under any guise ? The mods seems to have calmed down these days.Have owned outright since Sept 2009, however I'm of the firm belief that high prices are a cancer on society, they have sucked money out of the economy, handing it to banks who've squandered it.0 -
If this poll is any indication of the future then house prices wont even keep up with real inflation.
Possibly.
Lets assume inflation is 4.5% for 2011 and 4% for the remainder years.
£165,000 in 2011 would be valued at £201,712.90 in 2016.
Let's take as a weighted example
House prices are on average £195,000.
So yes, you could be correct and house prices havent kept up with inflation, however in this example they are still nominally £30,000 more than 5 years previously.
This poll is a bit of fun and no-one should take it seriously:wall:

Everyone also knows the way things are going, real inflation will carry on going up and the official figures will carry on disconnecting from reality in the coming years.
Wishful thinking that it will go down at all.
Take your pick, RPI or CPI?
If you want to choose the FrankCastlePI, lets us know which items are in your list:wall:
