Oh thank god, I've been keeping my fingers crossed for you!

This is great news - I couldn't offer any useful advice but have been watching and hoping she was safe :-)

I am REALLY pleased to say "told you so " and i'm sure you won't even mind!!

If an animal can find a way through a tiny gap, they can nearly always find their way back.

I'm sure you are doing this anyway but do keep a close eye on her, and perhaps consider getting her checked over at the vets to ensure there is no damage from her ordeal
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

I genuinly think she was trapped, but managed to get free with the weight she lost. At a guess she has lost about 20% of her body weight. She looks genuinly bewildered and still a bit frightened. She has plenty of food and water though (which she has been tucking into) And she is now sleeping. Thanks for your posts.

I'm so glad that she found a way out!!

Many years ago I use to keep russian hamsters one time one escaped don't know where it went for ages searched high and low. A week or maybe a fortnight even we were having our central heating replaced we warned the guys that they might find a dead hamster a few hours into the job they started screaming like girls they had found my hamster but she was alive!! Although very skinny, I put her back in her cage fed her up and watered her and she continued to have babies later in life. she was found in the garage when she was lost in a bedroom upstairs!

    Steph xx
