Paying for someone else's electric!!!

Hey all,

Having recently recieved some whopping electricity bills for our 2 bedroom flat (where we use relatively little electric) we proceded to investigate.

Turns out, the meter labelled as our flat is actually reading the consumption of somebody else's flat. Clearly, this means, somebody else is paying for our MUCH less electricity consumption.

We're a bit stuck as to what to do to be honest.

We were thinking:

1) Inform the police - it's a suspiciously large amount of electricity being consumed!

2) Calling our elec supplier and asking them what to do/where we stand.

At present, we are massively out of pocket.

Can anyone suggest what we should do or give details of their similar experiences please?

Big thanks in advance!

Call AND write to Scottish Power. Put your correct serial number and reading and also check readings each day for week and give these also. They will have to estimate Winter reads when you were using your heating but this will give them something to work on now.
