Hi
Any advi ce would be gratefully received. A non techy friend asked me to look at her printer. She bought it a couple of years ago and only attempted to install it last month. A message said the black ink cartridge was empty. She purchased a new one and with the same message asked me to take a look.
After doing some research think it may be something to do with a "time" issue. Have seen that you can buy a CD which will reset the software. Am no expert and just wondered if any one can help?

Ask whoever can be with the printer to use their Live Chat, they fix most things, and are reluctant to leave anything unresolved. The link will show live chat during their operating times

Have you considered uninstalling the Epson software with Revo or CCleaner, (to remove the registry entries) then downloading the latest software from Epson. Select the version of Windows, some of the software is from 2009 and 2010, which may be after she got the printer

Does it still say no ink if you print a test page from printer preferences?
If it is a compatible cartridge, say no if Epson ask otherwise it will be blamed on that, some of their people even say that the media must be changed to Epson's if it doesn't print properly.0
