Elephant.co.uk - are they reliable?

Its car insurance renewal time for me. Admiral quoting £880 to renew, so its off to comparison sites. On each one, elephant.co.uk are the cheapest, often over £100 cheaper than the other companies. Cheapest quote is via confused for £464 - which is clearly a massive saving on my renewal price.
So I'm wondering what the catch is?
Are they a good insurance company?, any small print to watch out for?

I think they give good intro discounts.. I insured with them last year
Nothing untoward I can report, although I didnt have a claim so not put that to the test, but otherwise all very efficient.
Renewal came in quite a lot more, so I switched again and was able to get my 2011 prem for little more than I paid Elephant in 2010.
I paid premium in full, i cannot remember if they didnt do instalments or whether I felt they were too expensive on the APR0 -
If you've been with Admiral then you'll have no problem with Elephant as they're the same company0

Admiral and Elephant are all in the same camp, they have instructions not to lose a case from one internal co to another, so could be worth phoning Admiral to see if they will match.
For us it's worked the other way around, where elephant have matched admiral with regard to daughters policy (aged 20, 3yrs ncb £350ush on a 1400 Polo - bargain compared to other threads you read on here, and her windscreen claim did not affect her rating either).
Phone during Uk office hours, the chaps/chapesses in Cardiff seem to know their product. Out of hours you will go to a Canadian call centre, helpful ish, but I feel they are agreeing with what I want to hear, and are a bit too smiley and eager to please - if you know what I mean.
Am thinking of moving my car insurance to elephant in a weeks time, am just not keen on their link with Albany Assist for ULR.0 -

Bell is the 'test brand' or was when I worked there. They trial things and I think EUI want to move away from Albany but Enterprise works with so many companies it can't deal with all the hire requests on its own for EUI and the other insurers.0 -
Admiral will match a quote from Elephant, just phone them up and ask. Have the Elephant quote number to hand.0

Yep, they matched it. Guess I'll never understand insurance really, i doubt being able to use a comparison site makes me a safer driver.....0
