Rent & Bond Question

Hey All.
Quick question, I am asking on behalf of a friend.
Is it normal for a bond to be returned after 6 months of living in rented accomodation?
The people in question are about to sign the contract for another 6 months, and were just wondering if the bond would be returned to them now.
There is no mention of it in the contract. I thought the bond was only returned when they left the property.
But apparently in their last property there bond was returned after 6 months.
Any information is appreciated.

No ..very unusual...bond returned (or not) when tenants vacate the property0

bonds are only usually returned at the end of a tenancy, when tenants are vacating the property...less any charges for cleaning/repairs/damage etc....0

Yeah, thought as much. Thanks for that
