2 queries - postage and mobile phones

1) I am selling quite a few things, having a clearout, and need to know what postage amount to put on each item. Does everyone check the Royal Mail website for weights and postage class? Or is it a pure guess? (i have been known in the past to look for similar items and see how much they are charging and do the same!)

2) I dont know if anyone saw the Virgin Mobile postings on 'Quick Grabbit While You Can' Anyway I now have 2 spare Nokia 1100 phones. These came with a Joining pack (SIM card with credit) and a 20 quid voucher which Im keeping!!
Is the Sim registered to me? Is the phone also registered to me? If the answer to either is yes, can I sell them, is it easy to get Virgin to transfer them or am I better taking them to have them unlocked?

I use the royal mail postal calculator on their site weighing the item and its packing and add a little bit for packaging (about 50p for a jiffy envelope and any tissue /bubble wrap/selotape and labels).

Lally, it would be up to you if you kept the SIM or not, if its PAYT then it would mean that someone else would have that number but unless you actually registered it then it would not be registered to you... If you want to unlock the phone then check out this website - you can do it for free and it will sell much better on ebay if you do that - let me know if you get confused!
