Finishing my refurb now - 2 chimney breasts (and open fireplaces, no fires, they were taken out by previous owner) in the through lounge. Room will be plastered/ painted, but not the breasts
What can I do with the firplaces? (Chimney functions btw) ideas welcome

Put in new fireplaces, can't beat them! One working one and then if you can't afford the other one to work, then put one in for decorative purposes. I love, love, love my open fire.
As lovely as they are in many situations, bare breasts of the chimney variety is a crime. They provide an essential focal point in a room other than a TV.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

We have one working one and the other has a nice wine rack in it, a lot of the bottles are empty by now but I just wash the ones with screw tops and pop them back, no one is the wiser:beer:Never play with your Bellybutton your Bum could fall off.:rotfl:0

I would prefer a fire of sorts as opposed to storage etc. Thoughts?0
