Mazda MX5 wings repair or replace?

Both wings have some rust coming through. The rust is in the same place on both sides (at the front).

Is it worth trying to repair or best to get them both replaced?

depend on how much rust has set in its probably eaten into the places you cant see like under the bumper behind the light etc.

make sure when purchasing new they are of good quality replacements, not a jo blogs imitation where you have to drill holes for the side repeater and for bolts, check carefully over the panel for any high spots left from manufactring as they show when they have been painted, and any deep scratches from storage.

its better to replace them rather than chucking good money on a bad panel, even with the rust rubbed to bare metal and treated theres nothing to say it wont cop up again in 12months.

If you were to repair can you Paint yourself etc?.. If so then I'd be looking at repairing depending if they are holed or just surface rust...

Replacing I'd be looking at a price between Clean rust free used replacements ideally in original same colour code or decent new replacements painted up to match

Easier to pick up replacements from an MX5 that's being broken; eBay or MX5 forums will sort you out.

Seconded. They're bolt on and you can do it yourself. You should be able to find replacements the same colour saving you a respray.

I was thinking of trying to find decent 2nd hand replacements in the same colour.

Might check out some MX5 forums & have a ring round.

ANyone know what kind of price they go for?

stupid money on fleabay. imitation wings are £185

hunt around the mazdamx5nutz forum classifieds http://www.mx5nutz.com/forum/, if theres non for sale there make a post someone will be able to give you the best cheapest place to look.
