Does anyone know of any discount to the Cheddar Gorge caves? We are stopping off in August on the way down to Cornwall.
Thanks in advance.

you need to be looking for Wookey Hole as I think thats the attraction name now - you can usually pick up leaflets at services on the way down, but I think there are probably other places too.
Co-op are doing some good vouchers at the minute and i did see this on the list I think also if you get in touch with the local tourist information office they often send out vouchers to you.
have a lovely time.0 -

There is Cheddar caves and Gorge, in Cheddar, Somerset. Then there is Wookey Hole Caves in Wells, Somerset. The latter has discount vouchers as Vicki states in booklets at services/tourist information points. Plus I think they do a discount if you book online rather than on the day. I can't say I have seen any discount vouchers for Cheddar caves but it maybe worth googling to see if there are any floating around.
Have a great trip0 -
Thanks - it was the Cheddar Caves I was interested in not Wookey Hole.
We've been Chedddar before and loved it - Wookey looks too gimmicky (sp!) but if anyone has been and can persuade me otherwise...!!0 -
I went to Wookey Hole, it's brilliant. And by the car park at the entrance there's a grassy area with picnic tables.
Straight after lunch, we drove down the road to Cheddar Gorge, which is over-commercialised, lacking in parking, you can't really see much if you try driving down the road - and we decided the actual Cheddar caves looked "cheesy" and didn't bother.
"we" were two females in 40s/50s.0 -
You can usually park outside the village, in the gorge, at the side of the main road.
It is a touristy area, but that's part of the charm now, as it's touristy in an old way.
The caves are worth a visit, again they date from a time when travelling out for a holiday was just starting to happen, and the area was striving to attract the new income.0 -
Ahh the memories, my dad used to take me and my siblings to Cheddar and Wooky holes in the summer holidays, all done in a day with a 4 hour drive there and back lol. I actually loved Wooky Holes more, theres more to see and do there esp for kids (if you have any) I think its cheaper online too, Ive been thinking of paying a visit with my daughter to bring back childhood memories and hope she loves it as much as i did :-)0

If you have an Internet phone, download voucher cloud - there's a £2 off per person voucher. I know it's not much, but every little helps.0

Frome tourist office and presumably others in the area did have discount vouchers.0
