Best MP3 Player that isn't an Apple iPod/Touch

I had an Aldi one a few years ago, and didnt really get on with it. (Similar to that one but not the same)
The menus were difficult to navigate, not intuitive at all.
One wrong button push and you had to go through about 5 layers to get back to where you were.
Not something you could navigate or operate without looking at the screen. Clicking to next track while driving would be impossible.
It froze up regularly too.
It did have one plus point though, a built in FM transmitter to use with your car radio, but even that only worked properly when the player was constantly on charge from the 12v supply.
I didnt really appreciate how bad it was untill I got my Fuze and everything was just right.“Careful. We don't want to learn from this.”0 -
I now have a rule Don't buy anything electronic from Aldi.
You get what you pay for and if it's cheap...
To be fair to Aldi, friends of mine buy electronics from them all of the time and are quite happy. Maybe it's just me being jinxed. YMMV
No problem at all with the food and household stuff.
For MP3 player reviews, have a look here.

I agree - don't get anything from Aldi... also, I'd stay away from Creative - they used to be good, but not anymore with really poor EQ options and SD cards that don't integrate properly.I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

I have a Creative Zen 8GB and love it.
Be warned however that (from the ABI FAQ)
You will have the same problem with other players such as the Sansa Clip.

With the Clip+ you can select either MTP or UMS/MSC.I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

I'd look at Sony, vastly superior to my previous Creative Zen.Stompa0

I used to use Creative players, fantastic kit back in the day before my Touch died on me - that being said i recently managed to get it back to life again
The had an Archos for a couple of years, bit clunky (mind you it was 2008ish) and it's just started to give out on me now with the headphone socket being iffy, they do come in bigger sizes (mine was 160gb) but i'm not sure what the latest models are like build quality wise, considering mine was used & abused daily for 3+ years i'd consider it held up well.Retired member - fed up with the general tone of the place.0
