I was about to post that state boarding schools exist, but I don't know much about them.0 -
CATS is one of the boarding schools in London and isn't cheap but are they supposed to be? The offer excellent teaching and you get what you pay for, right? On the other hand, they do award scholarships so people who are smart and work hard but can't afford it still have a chance to go there.0

I went to a state boarding school in Hertfordshire. It is a very good school but cheap(ish) because you only pay for the boarding not the teaching as well.

The cost varies massively - and generally speaking, girls' schools cost less than boys' schools, for the same type of thing. London day schools can cost anything from £2,000 a term to nearly £8,000 a term. Westminster School, for example, is about £7,200 a term for day pupils, and £10,500 a term for boarding....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

I assumed OP meant Bradford as in district of Manchester, next to Miles Platting and Bewick if I recall.
ETA - here you go - google map of Bradford, Manchester, M110
