Bank transfer

Hi

I have had a buyer in Germany want to buy something (value £50) and pay by bank transfer. He also wants it posting to a UK address.

He has only 4 feedback and has been a member for about 6 months. He has sold a couple of things but his last feedback is a negative saying he gave false tracking details and a dispute had to be opened to get his money back.


Any advice gratefully received.

All seems fine to me. Bank transfer is great. How were you going to post it, i.e. method?

I just put it will be sent insured on the item description so was going to send it recorded delivery.

I have never had a bank transfer before and I guess I am worried with a charge back or whatever the equivilent is on bank transfers.

Also costs, are there any costs involved.

No costs, quick and easy.
It would be my payment method of choice as a seller.

Recorded is only insured to the same level as ordinary post. In this case, it's fairly pointless to send by special, as you are paying to insure £2. Still sounds ok.

Actually most UK banks charge an admin fee to receive a Bank transfer internationally. Normally £8 or £10 (though I know natwest is only £1 if below £100). So OP I would check before accepting payment as depending on your item price it could be more expensive than paypal.

My business bank doesn't.

Send via a tracked to door service. I found DHL booked through Parcelmonkey gave excellent tracking and it was under £20 to send a laptop.
