Samsung TV - 2 Years Old - No Red?

Hi Guys and Gals,
Does anyone know if the sales of goods act, fit for purpose statement apply to this?
My Samsung TV has been on the wall the whole time par a house move in between for the last 2 years. All of a sudden out of the blue the red decides huh cant be bothered and doesnt show up any more. Im watching hulky eastenders etc.
I contacted samsung who said they cant do anything and if i wanted it fixed i had to get in touch with one of their recommended repair centers. The quote i got was rediculous.
I've now brought a new TV as i couldn't wait for the dispute however would like some of my money (£600+) recovered all be it by refund or free repair and then sell the nightmare.
Any Ideas?
Marcus

I fear you may have jumped the gun regarding getting a new TV. IF, as I understand your post, the TV is faulty and IF it can be proven to be an inherent fault then under the SOGA the retailer should provide a remedy but they may wish to repair or replace the old TV, you won't be able to insist on a refund and any refund would likely to be partial taking into account the years of use you've already had.Hi Guys and Gals,

Sorry if this is an obvious question, but are you completly sure the fault lies with the TV? Do you get the same issue regardless of the picture source being used?0

Samsung TV's are rubbish I can't understand why anyone buys them.
They have brilliant performance and picture but Samsung do not put them together properly.Iva started Dec 2018.0 -
I think you'll have a bit of a headache proving that it was inherently faulty when you bought it.
Surely Hulky Eastenders is an improvement?Je suis Charlie.0
