Facebook Account help

Hi I've opened a facebook group and I want to set up a group email but I use a dongle when I tried to set up a group email before it went to windows mail which I can't get because I haven't got a server and password and all that, can I change any settings anywhere so that my facebook email address is a web email eg gmail rather than a windows email .

What's Facebook got to do a mailing list and your email address and the fact you use a dongle?

Anyone else a bit lost??

i am.

You dont need an email list to create a group. You just invite people to the groups from your friends list. If there are people outside of your friends list who you want to join your group then you will need their email only to get in touch with them.

I probably didn't explain it very well, if I want to email everyone at the same time , if I created a facebook email address for that, it wouldn't do it as the windows mail box comes up on screen and I haven't got a windows mail email address set up

I have no idea where you get this 'Facebook email' address from.. This would suggest that you had <something>@facebook.com address but you dont.

You are just wanting to message all group members yes?

I thought your Facebook email address (eg x@Facebook.com) always goes into Facebook messages, as the My Account Settings page says "Emails sent to this address are delivered to your Facebook Messages." You can change the Contact Email address under the My Account Settings if this is what you want to do.

So you have an email address that ends in @facebook do you? How did you get one of them. Have i missed something?

Yes I do it does end in facebook .com

I got a message when I logged in that I could enable my facebook email address and an option to click on - I guess they are rolling this out gradually across all users.
