'Sound' trainers/running shoes - non-sweatshop

Where can I buy decent running shoes that aren't produced in a sweatshop? I want a functional running shoe rather than a fashion-look shoe.
Thanks for any info.

Not sure about the non sweat shop varieties, but I noticed that you are in London, so I'd advise a trip to Runner's Need. They've got branches in Liverpool Street, Holborn and Camden. If you can find out which brands are produced more ethically, it's worth seeing if they stock them. They're specialists and at the Liverpool Street + Holborn stores they watch you run on a treadmill to evaluate which shoe is best for you. I'm a bit flat footed and I've wasted lots of money on running shoes over the years which have turned out to be not that comfortable. I'm really pleased with the shoes I bought here, they fit perfectly.
