Aldi & Customer Care (consultancy opportunity?)
Aldicustomercare?
I recieved a 'fine' from Parking Eye. I contacted Aldi 4 times to explain why i should not pay it (when I store I found I had left debit card at home and was on holiday, had to go to bank for cash), and 4 times they said a manager would ring back. Yes, you can guess, nobody did.
Anyway paid fine (like a fool, but other things going on in my life at time), wrote to Aldi complaining about lack of contact from them & explained in a letter the full details of the day.
Recieved a letter from a manager in the NE and he said he wanted my phone no in order 'to go through some points in my letter'.
Wrote back with phone number, and Yes You can guess...no call or letter.
Wrote again, copied all correspondence, and again no contact.
Thus I make this point:
If this was faulty goods, Aldi would not honour guarantees or Sale of Goods Act given this experience.
Therefore I will never shop or buy anything ever again at Aldi.
*** BUYERS BEWARE OF ALDI'S CUSTOMER CARE ***
*** The above statement is a contradiction in terms as, in my experience, they'd have to understand the words first ***

Aldi would honour guarantees on goods and whatever you may have issues with SOGA - they know they will get in trouble if they dont.
They dont give a rats ar5e about your parking 'fine' as they have just made a few quid out of a mug like you for paying it.one of the famous 5

Aldi/Lidl/Netto don't give a rats !!! about customer service. Never have and never will. When I've ever gone into Aldi they only ever have one checkout open with a long queue of mile high packed trolleys. It can easily take 20 minutes to get served and when you only want a few things, you really can't be bothered waiting that long.0

Think like all the big supermarkets customer service varies store to store and area to area.
In my experience our local aldi has great customer service, as does the morrisons, but have heard bad things about Tesco an Asda are horrendous.
The only store up here where you always have to queue to pay no matter what time or day is Tesco.
These days the only store I would say has consistantly good service is Lakeland-they are fab but often more expensive.
All the big companies (including banks) are purely about money now and customer service went by the board long long ago.
However OP I can't see how your fine is Aldi's fault? You forgot your card/had no money on you and presumably parked on a car park over the time allowed?
Worth a look on the parking fines threads to see if any way to reclaim your fine.

Aldi make no money from the fake parking ticket - it was NEVER a fine.
Is there not a phone number on the letter from that Manager? Explain that as a genuine customer you felt harassed by Aldi and their agent and were bullied into paying a fake fine. Ask what he's going to do about it before you take the harassment claim further (for which you could claim monetary compensation, much more than the fake fine).
Never mind the bad customer service angle - although it is worth mentioning to him - surely the allegation of the criminal offence of harassment over a bogus parking ticket when you were a customer may hit home more. Demand a refund.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Disagree, it should be in the parking section here as the person needs to reclaim the money paid when they were scammed into thinking it was a real fine.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Aldi near me has no ppc on it, but one near my sons uni has the beady cameras of Parking Eye watching it, guess what, no parking issues at the Aldi without PPC,0

Strangely it appears Aldi do not want you to know who their UK CEO is. I can't find the detail using any of my normal sources so the only way would appear to be to pay for the details from companies house ( something I'm not going to do ! ). I guess this alone might make one question their customer service ethic. All aboard the Gus Bus !0

I have just been stuffed with a parking eye fine. I decided to pay it as it was me and I did stay 10 minutes over the allotted time and I do not need the hassle so I have paid it. I know it's the other side of "money for nothing" culture we have nowadays from unproductive people who are incapable of creating wealth without taking from others but it is Aldi who license these parasites.
Aldi has just lost a customer for life.0
