    I've been Money Tipped!
    I'd suggest trying something based on beeswax. Using vaseline, and most of the mainstream ones tend to end up in a viscious circle - although they soothe the soreness, they make your lips drier and you'll become more and more reliant on them as time passes.

    A beeswax based product shouldn't have this problem. Burts bees is one that springs to mind, but you can also find recipes online to easily make your own, or look for local small producers. Once the soreness improves, try to gradually wean yourself off it.
