Sore, dry, painful lips product needed

Options
Since November i have suffered from the absolutly painful, dry and sore lips.
I have used vaseline - too greasy and makes it worse as it dries/wears off.
Blistex {all products i have found} relieves when use but doesn't help 'cure' the problem and seems to make it my lips more drier in long run.
Lipbalm sticks {various} - no help.
Nothing! too unbearable.
Carmex - best i have tried though relieves it doesn't 'cure', though it doesn't make it worse. It is getting quite pricy though as i'm going through two tubes a week = £5, it soon adds up.

I gave all products a good go before declaring them useless. I am now at my wits end with it. Can anyone reccommed a product that will actually heal my lips.

Thanks

The only thing that I have found helps is Sanctuary Lip Balm (quite often on 342 at Boots). A small tub lasts ages (+ fits nicely into your handbag), and it really seems to sink in; I just re-apply throughout the day, as necessary. It's light in texture, and not at all gunky. I'm not sure if it will actually heal your lips on a permanent basis (maybe worth a visit to the doctor in case there is some underlying problem?), but well worth a try.

I'm also sure that I have read - somewhere! - that Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream is good for this problem. Expensive, I know, but Superdrug have had it on offer in the past. Or maybe you know someone who uses it, and they would squeeze a bit into a (sterilized) container for you so that you can give it a short 'trial'.

Sadly, I suffer from dry lips all year round and have done as long as I can remember. I also have sensitive skin and eczema to add which flares up around my mouth - so have tried every lip care product going as many irritate me or make things worse.

I have now been using Body Shops Aloe lip treatment, it costs about £6 for a tube but does last. I apply mine throughout the day and a generous helping at night and although my lips still get dry, this has been the best product I have used by far.

Good luck, I know how depressing it can be! Cannot remember the last time I was able to wear a lipstick!

Use Body Shop's Lip Scuff before you moisturise, it's brilliant, I love it. :)
It's not cheap but it does work.

    Hi,
i use Yes to carrots eye cream on my lips and it is brilliant. Also at night I find putting rosehip oil all over my face including my lips seems to help.

I think a trip to the doctors may be in order. I've been putting it off as i don't like thing of 'wasting' the gps time with something as trivial as sore lips. It is getting quite unbearable now, can't remember the last time i had a good snog with my hubby!

    Thanks everyone for your suggestions.:)

Without a doubt gale hayman Lip lift is a godsend. I suffer with eczema and psoriasis and have to be careful what i use. This is fab you use it like a lippy (i put it on every night) but it's colourless and my lips just dont crack anymore.

My daughter has the same problem. We have found dabbing pure chamomile tea that has cooled (just tea bag in water) is healing her lips nicely.

My OH has very dry lips and has found that any product containing chemicals like lanolin and paraffin (which most lip balms do contain) make the problem worse over long periods of time.

I bought him this and he really likes it. Might be worth a try:
