uswitch
At the end of last month I used uswitch to change my gas and electric to scottishpower. I thought I had chosen a fixed deal but the details they have sent me say its capped which i think is a dearer. I cannot find this deal anywhere on the web now and am wondering if I have misread it all. I am also sure I read that Uswitch were going to give me £60 cashback which would be paid via bacs. This has now turned out to be a money off voucher with virgin wines.
Has anyone come across anything like this. I have just had a baby so brain not functioning at 100% !!

what`s of interest is that on the uswitch site they sayAt uSwitch, we've teamed up with Virgin Wines to offer you a free case of 12 bottles of wine, delivered to your door when you switch to a cheaper gas and electricity supplier with us.
yet the £60 voucher is only valid for the wine club - which is £120 for the case of wine..... false advertsing much....0 -

All the generally available SP tariffs, including those no longer available to new customers, are on the SP website.
A capped deal may not be more expensive than a fixed deal. A capped deal simply says the price will not go above the cap, but unlike a fixed rate, may fall.
What tariff did you actually sign up to?
Regarding cashback offer, if you went through the MSE link, you would get a free case of wine - no extra money to spend, but no cashback either.
(If you didn't use the MSE link, you get a voucher off a case of wine ... which means you still have some money to pay if you want it)"Now to trolling as a concept. .... I've just switched with Uswitch and feel conned by the wine offer as well. (The link on Martin's site says that you get forty quid's worth of free wine if you use Uswitch.)
There is nothing 'free' about having to buy £120 of wine in order to get a £60 discount.0 -

You don't have to pay anything using the MSE link as I understand it.At uSwitch, we've teamed up with Virgin Wines to offer you a free case of 12 bottles of wine, delivered to your door when you switch to a cheaper gas and electricity supplier with us...3. There are no cash alternatives to the promotion.
4. A case of wine will be supplied containing 12 x 75cl bottles with a value of at least £50, and will be supplied by our wine partner, Virgin Wines."Now to trolling as a concept. .... then someone at MSE needs to check the link they are supplying - as paying £60 is happening all the time now....0

I emailed uswitch to query cashback and they have informed me that there has never been a £60 cashback on offer but I would be entiltled to £40 paid via bacs.0
