Keeping dust in check in the bathroom

Hi everyone. We are having our bathroom renovated and today was the first day that we were able to use the shower after nearly three weeks. (yes, we did make alternative arrangements!) We have the basin in, and a walk-in shower but have got rid of the bath. Still work to be done.

Anyway, we have noticed that the surfaces are an absolute dust magnet. I realise that this could be due to work as yet unfinished, but ds has just finished his first year at uni in a flat in a hall of residence, and says he had exactly the same problem there. And he is reasonably tidy and likes things reasonably clean, not like a lot of students! :)

Does anyone have any good ideas to keep the dust down? I am still working out the best way to clean it as we will want to keep it looking newish as long as possible. The builder recommends the Mr Muscle leave on shower spray, so I've tried that.

Thanks in advance.

If youve just had work done it can take several weeks for dust to "settle".

My bathroom has been finished a year and i still get dust in it, I have no idea where it comes from, apart from through the window or through the vent on our warm air central heating.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

Towels and toilet paper generate loads of dust. An extractor fan keeps a lot of it down, we have to regularly clean the grille so it must be sucking it up.
