Yale Doors

Hi,

I need to replace my front door and have been looking at the options. I'm thinking of getting a yale door from yaledoor.co.uk as it all looks rather quick and simple but... I don't have any experience with the company and I don't know anyone that's used them before, so I'm hoping that some of you might be able to share some info.

Has anyone got any experience of using Yale doors? Would anyone recommend them? I'd love to hear any good or bad experiences.

Thank You.

Looks to me as if they're using Global composite doors

Never fitted them so can't comment on quality.

No experience, but I always worry when an internet supplier uses a recognised name.
To me, Yale means really good quality locks but Yale don't even pretend to make good quality doors.

    Hello,

I am just bumping up this thread as we are looking into front doors and wondered about Yale Doors

Anyone had any experience of them, please?

There were only £100 dearer than our local door place, for composite!

They fitted my door in December, badly fitted door did not fit frame.

It took until May to resolve after numerous inspections, re-fit of the door they supplied and finally new door fitted and I am happy but their customer services are non existant. Had to raise issue of court to get anywhere.

They also use a contractor to fit so you end up chasing two companies if anything goes wrong.

Have now discovered most Composite doors are supplied from same manufacturer.

Would go local in future, it would have been cheaper after allowing for my time, phone calls and letters.

    Hi,

I went with the Yale door and to be honest....not impressed.

I had the door measured within days of my deposit being paid then waited over a month for a saturday appointment. They then cancelled my fitting on the Friday evening and re-arranged it for the Tuesday. So I basically waited over a month specifically for a weekend date and then had to take a day off work anyway!

The door wasn't very well fitted and rain water came through the spyhole! So I had to have that fixed - luckily a friend did it for me.
  • I used Yale Door last year and everything went relatively smoothly. They use a third party to fit the door (Evander I think), but they got it right and were a couple of nice guys. I regret not picking a different style, but that is our fault...
