printer with spool problem - is it sellable?

I posted here a few months ago about my lexmark hell with the printer having a printer spool issue where print jobs were backing up and not deleting jobs after printing.

It is a printer, scanner, fax one and I wondered if it is sellable? I put it on a site for sale but had no interest and as I am not particularly techy minded wondered if it is because it is worthless. It is currently gathering dust on the kitchen table and I am tempted to just chuck it in the bin.

Is it worth continuing to try to sell it or just bin it?

I would suspect the problems are all in your Windows install and not the printer.

Sounds like a software issue which might be resolved by reinstalling it. If there's no mechancal fault then it's saleable.
But because Lexmarks are mostly cheap and nasty devices you'll probably not get much for it, and the shipping costs may be prohibitive.
I've only ever sold 2 printers on eBay, and both got damaged in transit.

Ok, so it should be sellable then. I bought a new printer anyway as I was so hacked off with it getting stuck.

I don't think I have the original box so postage and packaging would be prohibitive. Gumtree it is then!

I have the identical issue with my Canon printer. It prints out a page but the job stays in the queue instead of disappearing. Unplugging it from the power of for a minute or two then plugging power back in cures the issue and it only returns after some months. A usb driver glitch in my case most likely. Have you tried this cure?

Reinstall the software, as Hammy suggested.

I tried lots of solutions but they were only ever temporary. I don't need or want the printer as I bought a new one and have no need for 2. In relation to the question about whether it is sellable, it seems from the responses that the answer is yes. The second question is - is there anyone out there that would pay for a lexmark printer lol. If I had realised how expensive the ink was I would never have bothered!

Unless you establish that the fault is software and not hardware related, you can't sell it as a working printer anyway.
Lexmark ink is expensive in order to subsidise the cheap printers.

will depend on the age of the printer too; printers nowadays are relatively cheap ; I'd be reluctant to buy a 'problem' printer second-hand .
