Micro Bluetooth USB Dongle EDR Version 2.0 -help!

Hopefully somebody will be able to help me with this because its driving me insane!! Ive just plugged in my new Micro Bluetooth USB Dongle EDR Version 2.0 (yes was very cheap..this may have something to do with it!) and followed the instructions that came up, at the end it said it hadn't installed successfully, something to do with peripheral drivers?....not sure...

I tried to send a picture from my PC to my mobile (W995) and this worked no problems, but when I try to send anything to my PC it says 'Bluetooth connection failed'......

If anybody can help id be really greatful, thanks!

:D

  • Hi,
Thanks for your reply. Ive just tried that but the same thing is happening. When I click on the bluetooth (im using windows 7 if that makes any difference?) icon and the menu comes up, the line 'allow a device to connect' is faded out so I cant click on it....im guessing this is the problem?

    :D

Reboot the laptop. Perhaps it with help if you supplied the full details of the laptop.

I tried one of these on Win7 64-bit, had exactly the same and gave up, on XP it would work but only 1 file/picture at a time. I tried all sorts of solutions from the internet, none worked.

    Will watch for a solution.
    Move along, nothing to see.

I use mine with Windows 7 32 Bit. No problems there. Which model of machine did you use?

Of course it would be helpful if the OP would provide the relevant details.
  • Thanks for your replies....this is the PC im using:

I think the important bits your asking for are:
    Windows 7 home premium 64-bit
    AMD Athlon
    2.7 GHz

    Thanks :D

Cheap should have nothing to do with it, as Microsoft claim that this Ultra Compact Bluetooth V2.0 USB Adapter will install automatically on 64 bit.

Your is not the first report of it not working with Windows 7 64 bit and I don't have a test machine with Win 7 64bit to say otherwise. Otherwise I could at least test it with the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack.

You can try it for yourself That is the 64bit stack.

    More info here

Let me know if it works for you.

    You too spud17. ;)

    Yes boss, ;).
Mine is also 64-bit, pretty sure I've tried the Toshiba stack, but will indulge you. :)

It won't be this evening, but will report back.

I included you as you wrote earlier that yours was 64bit too.
The are two versions of the Toshiba stack. I've linked to the 64bit version.
I'm sure that you know that, but I guess that you are not the only person reading this thread.

No problem, tbh, I can't remember whether it was 32 or 64 bit that I tried before.
I'm guessing at 32bit [default] because software will usually say if 64bit.
