Possible to move cities under Housing association?

hi i recently (well it's been over a month) moved to live with my partner. he was on the housing association list since 2009 and finally got a place in 2011. his family had a 3 bedroom house but with loads of siblings it was overcrowded.

i moved from a city to elsewhere and even after 'settling' i feel i cannot stay here permanently. there is not much to do, the community here is really narrow minded and i feel there are too many ppl involved in my personal life which i didnt have back home.

i really want to move back to my city with my partner but he doesn't have the best paying job and currently i do not work, so buying or renting outright in my home city would be out of the question. under this housing association rent and council tax is reduced significantly which i am grateful for whilst we search for better jobs. i was at uni at home but realised i was not getting much out of that uni (wrong choice of uni at last minute) and round here there is only one good uni, the others are at the bottom of the league. at least if i go back to my city i can carry on and apply with a much wider choice of unis. anyway so i was wondering if it would be possible to transfer under housing from one city to another? i would live with my parents any time (with my partner) but my own home is full with my nieces and nephews too so there's no space for us there. any advice on anyone who may have done what i wish to do?

It's a national website for mutual exchanges, also you could put a card up in the local shops near to where you want to move to.

No it doesn't matter. You can swap from any housing to any other.. council or housing association. I did a swap last August. The homeswapper website is great but you do need to check it well and do some work contacting people and so on.

People do best on there when they put pics up, so do take some photos to upload.

    thank you.

the only thing i feel uneasy about is sharing of personal details and publishing them on their letters (name etc.) which i wouldn't want until real communication takes place.
