there's a place that does seconds insulation which from what i've seen is pretty good and cheap, would be careful about re-using existing windows as you'll have to prove they meet the regs which will be tricky unless you have the paperwork

Cost of materials will depend on the quantities you are looking to need. First you need to work that out otherwise it's just fingers in the air.

I did my own extension by buying all my own materials and using known trusted tradesmen and saved about 50% on what I was quoted for an all in job.

I have a very detailed spreadsheet of every £1 I spent and what I spent it on split out between materials and labour. More than happy to send you a copy of it, but unless you can proportion it to your own build it will be difficult for you to evaluate it with any real meaning.

its detatched 1930s. would be looking at building up both sides of approx 5m then the front/gable end.then extending the existing pitched roof by 2m.the exisiting ground flooring is suspended wooden floor so i guess the new bit would be the same.
iv just fited new windows this weeknend which comply to regs so they would be reused
tucker, tnx for the offer but at this stage its just a brainwave gathering info & from there i will see if it will be doable
