I won 2 Isle Of Wight Tickets :(

Just sitting at home with my 2 wristbands for the Isle of Wight festival.
Found out Thursday night i'd won.Wristbands arrived Friday lunchtime.
Slight problem being it's about 6 hrs drive to portsmouth/southampton to catch a ferry that I haven't got a booking for.So by the time I get there and set up camp.Hmm thats the first day missed.
The wife was visiting family in Scotland,returning tonight.Friends on hols.
I was working a 10 hr shift today,tomorrow and Monday.
A big thanks to Blokely.com for making my weekend miserable by
doing a competition that ends way too late to plan anything and give work notice.
To top it off I haven't even got sky arts to watch the Foos or Manics :mad:

I had the opposite problem,i had a weekend booked in the IOW (sun holiday)before i realised it was the festival weekend and i was trying to win tickets but no luck ..

That's crazy giving you camping tickets to arrive with you Friday lunchtime - if you don't get down there on the Thursday and set up camp you'll never get a place, except perhaps a two feet square next to the toilets, that's why the gates open for camping at noon on Thursday. You didn't miss much - Sunday was atrocious weather, total mud swamp with lots of people leaving early and it was very overcrowded this year too. I bought tickets and almost wish I hadn't (though saw some great bands it was physically not a pleasant weekend!).
