yahoo/gmail forwarding

Hoping someone can help...

I have an imac, and used to have my yahoo mail account linked to macmail, but it has been tempremental, so i have set my yahoo account up, so that it forwards all may to an already existing gmail account, which macmail seems to like! The problem is, that although the mails come through to macmail via gmail/yahoo, which each mail that i get, i also recieve a delivery subsystem mail, which reads as follows:
Technical details of permanent failure:
Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain. We recommend contacting the other email provider for further information about the cause of this error. The error that the other server returned was: 554 554 delivery error: dd This message is looping: it already has my X-Yahoo-Forwarded line. (#5.4.6) - mta1011.mail.ac4.yahoo.com (state 18).


There's clearly a setting wrong somewhere, but can anyone help?

No idea about macmail but if its like any web mail service, its trapping your forwarded message as being spam and rejecting it.
Probably ... not 100% sure.
Not much you can do about that.

i appear to have sorted it out. I think what it was, was I had my yahoo email as a forwarding address in my gmail account at the same time as i had my gmail as a forwarding address in my yahoo, so ultimately it was going topund in a loop, hence the error messages:)
