House Alarm Keeps Going Off

Hi all

We have a house alarm which is fairly old probably about 10 years.

I came home from work the other day to find our alarm had been going off so I thought nothing of it more than likely a fly.

So went to bed the following night to hear the alarm going off 3 times once at 1:30am, 3am and before I got up for work at 5:45.

Just got home again today to find out its going off again I've only been out for an hour

Does anybody have any idea why

Thanks

Chris

I think this is usually a faulty sensor in one of the rooms. When it happened to us we needed someone to check and then replace one of the sensors. Problem then solved and not that expensive. Often when it goes off there is a code on the display which tells you which sensor has been tripped. Some systems allow you to exclude a sensor until it is fixed by using a key combination.

Usually when the alarm triggers it will show the zone number that has been triggered on the control panel?

spiders are a problem with the alarm system at work, setting up home in the older sensors (new ones don't have as easy access)

Cos if you do it today and like it...You can do it again tomorrow.. :p

While you're doing some maintenance on the alarm, as it is 10 years old you may want to change the lead-acid back-up battery if it has got one.
