I recently bought a small one button cardigan off ebay that was described by the seller as THIS IS A USED ITEM SO DOES SHOW SIGNS OF WEAR SO PLEASE DO NOT EXPECT NEW ok i only paid 99p for it, the picture looked fine but as with many it was taken from a distance the postage was £3.50 ,but when it arrived & i opened it the cardigan was in such a state that personally was only fit for the bin ...there was dangling threads everywhere & it was completely plucked (daughters description attacked by a cat )..i have messaged the seller her attitude is the condition is a matter of opinion & has covered herself by the wording on the add ,quite happy to refund the costs if i return the item to her meaninb i get charged again for postage which she refuses to pay but why should i cover the cost of postage for something that should have been binned not sold ...At the min we are in resolution..Do i just cut my losses? any advice thanks

You will no doubt be told to return it for a full refund, you will have to pay the return cost, unless ebay do a no fault refund, then you wouldn't be asked to return it.
When you get to leave feedback, don't mention the dispute as she can get that removed.

If the seller does not attempt to resolve it reflect this in your feedback and star ratings esp on description

Forget ebay, go straight to paypal and do a SNAD (sold not as described) claim, do not let the paypal system push you back to ebay, make sure you read all the bits and stick with paypal.

    hi everyone
just to let u know i escalated late last nite & got this practically straight away

    Final decision:

Neither you nor the seller were found to be at fault.

it says that customer support have refunded me but reading a few other forums it sounds like she gets her money too & i can bin the item ..Does anyone know if this is correct ?i did message ebay explaining i had never had to do this b4 & to explain what it means but so far i have not had a reply ..Also what do ppl suggest i do about feedback? i would rather leave none as i know she will comeback with some sarky remark but i feel members need to know that when it says Wear in the listing they should Beware as its more than likely unfit for the purpose its sold ..Thanks for the support & hopefully i will never have to go through this again

No fault refunds seem to be getting more common. You don't need to return it as she's kept the money.
In your FB don't mention the dispute, leave a neg & hit her stars for description & comms. If thew postage was high then you can reflect that in the p&p * as well.
She can't leave you anything other than +FB, if she leaves bad follow up it will generally reflect badly on her not you. I would say, "Expected some wear this item was only fit for the bin".

Good answer - and at least you don't have to spend a lot of money returning it.
