Proof of Employment as temp

Hi there

I recently moved into a flat as a subtenant. I have just found out that the tenancy expires 31 July and to stay I will need to sign the new tenancy, and go through a full credit check etc with the LA.

First of all I'm worried about the credit check. I recently tried to get instore credit and was declined. So I ordered a copy my credit check myself and couldn't see any reason why. The only reason I could think of is that I am a temporary employee. I have no debts (other than c/cards and O/D), unpaid bills , CCJ's etc.

Which brings be to my second point. I am a temporary contractor and have been doing this since I was made redundant beginning of 2010. I have been in an on-going temp role with the same company for 1 year on 1st July. I know the LA will ask for proof of employment but who do I get this from - my temp agency or the company I am currently in my role with? And is this going to go against me in the application? In my 6 years as a tenant in the UK I have never missed or been late on a rent payment, and can supply them with reference details of previous LL's, but will being a temp go against me?

Thanks in advance

Ashleigh

Your employer is the agency you are working for not the company you are contacted to.

Get a letter from the agency. I got one when I was doing agency work driving wagons and wanted a mortgage. They put in the letter that I was constantly in work and in effect a fulltime employee.

When my daughter was doing long term tempory work with an agency the LA asked to see her bank statements before they proceeded. Maybe offer this?
