I would consider sending the bulky stuff by carrier. You can send sizeable 25kg boxes for around 10 pounds + VAT with companies like this

Take cheap flights with your daughter carrying light and valuable things and get the heavy stuff sent.

This might help a bit! We sent a couple of packages to our DS at Uni in Leeds (we are in London) and they are quite good, and reasonable. Have to say for the main move in/out, we drove up with a very full car though and stayed overnight. Bit of a pain and all the stuff is all over the place in the house atm - with DS saying 'I can't put it away, I'm still in transit!):)

Thanks both. That's the sort of thing I need to use - ship the stuf then go by air. I'll get some quotes.
Never let it get you down... unless it really is as bad as it seems.

If you already live in Luton, maybe 2 people can fly, one returns. Pay Easyjet or whoever for the excess suitcases. It still might work out the same/less cost than taking a car.

The University area is awash with decent hotels and parking is reasonably good, even a lot of on-street.

If you go during term time the parking is not that good. Trying to get a space can take about 20 minutes at times. This is assuming it's Queens.
