Just received this messege while trying to list on Ebay ?

Options
I have just tried to list a buy it now or best offer on Ebay, and i got the messege below....
Attention sellers:

Please place a reimbursement payment method on file
We're glad that you're selling on eBay. To continue listing, you must have a payment method (credit card, or PayPal account) on file with us to pay amounts you owe under the eBay Buyer Protection Policy (referred to here as "Reimbursement Payment Method"). In most cases, it's the same payment method that you use to pay your eBay seller fees.
The eBay Buyer Protection Policy ("Policy") helps buyers if they have a problem with a purchase. If a seller does not resolve the buyer's problem and the Policy applies, eBay will arrange a refund for the buyer (the amount of the refund is determined in accordance with the Policy). In cases where eBay directly refunds the buyer, a Reimbursement Payment Method allows eBay to charge your payment method for the amount refunded.
You, in the capacity of a seller, authorise us to collect variable amounts (representing the refund eBay paid to the buyer) from the payment method you select on the next page. By selecting a payment method on the next page, you acknowledge and agree that your authorisation will be made on an automatic basis and on various dates as and when refunds are made to buyers under the Policy.
Confirm Reimbursement Payment Meth

Ive not come across this messege before, Has anyone else had one?
Ive not had any cases opened against me in the past, and im already paying ebay their fees via paypal, im easily confused by T&C :o

Just link your Paypal account to pay your Ebay fees, you can still pay as you do now.

There is a requirement for sellers to have a card registered once they hit a certain selling level- are you able to add a card as well as the paypal or is it still refusing to let you in?

My default position as a non techie is always to swear and cuss a bit, log out, clear all my cookies and my cache, have a cup of tea and try again.

That last paragraph really made me laugh. Do you have any idea of the selling level at which sellers are required to have a card on file?

Sorry I have no idea, but it never used to be very high- certainly less than around sales equalling fees of £15 or so. The problem is that the ebay help pages don't seem to be updating any more and I've certainly found some very out of date info when trying to search for links to put up here.

    There is this:

    http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/sell-getstarted.html

    Create a seller's account
    To become a seller, you:
    • Provide us with a valid credit card, debit card, or bank account information.
But I'm not sure that applies to people already registered, only new sellers registering. There is also this help page if your card is not accepted:
