Symply Dog Food - Anybody use this?

We've had our 3.5 year old beagle male since mid January and he was being fed on Asda Hero dried food by his owners. He had smelly poops and wind all the time and generally looked bloated and lethargic.
I was advised by my pet shop to try this new dog food which is proving to be really popular. He has been on it for 4 months now and we are really noticing the difference. He has definatley got more energy for a start and his poops are more formed.
Does anyone else feed their dog this? You dont hear much about it?
A 12kg sack is currently costing me about £42 which lasts about 5 weeks or so.

I've been feeding Symply to my scotties (9yrs & 5yrs) for about three months and they both seem to be doing well on it.Nice to save.0

It is a half decent product, you get what you pay for. Supermarkets own label can be cheap price and cheap quality0

I use this for my lab, she has allergies (pretty much everything but air!) and she lost alot of her fur. Our vet advised that we use this, have done for a few months and its improved her allergies no end!0

Oh the vet recommended it for your dog? Great!:heart2::heart2::heart2: I LOVE MY BEAGLE! :heart2::heart2::heart2:0

Just came across this forum whilst searching for info on Symply. I have a GSD with really dry, itchy skin. The local pet shop have recommended I try symply and they are certain that it will help improve her skin. good to know that vets also recommend it, I was worried the pet shop were just thinking of profits! Will get some to try her on.0

Nice to see an ethical/ local food. Thought people might want a shufty at the ingredients, generally good tho a couple of bizarre statements (one the main page it says salmon is a good source of O-6; white/ rice flour is not a slow release carb unless they are using basmati) but that is probably down to the web designer not being well versed in nutrition! http://www.symplypetfoods.co.uk/ingredients.php Not impressed with the senior/ light: rice and corn gluten are cheap fillers and the formula is lower in fat, when research suggests it's carbs that are a problem in canine weight management.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

Good feedback thanks firefox. You could always query them on that, if you wanted to? Would be interested in their response.
I am a first time dog owner and immediately thought Iams would be the best food? I dont know why - maybe those bl00dy adverts? After talking with my pet shop for a good hour one day they went through the different foods and the decent ones seemed to be around the £40 for 12-15kg bag mark. They werent trying to hard sell it to me by any means, they offered me my money back if I tried the food and didnt like, cant say fairer than that! I need something that wont bulk my dog out, as beagles are reknown for their weight gain (like moi)!:heart2::heart2::heart2: I LOVE MY BEAGLE! :heart2::heart2::heart2:0 -
Not sure if cost is an issue with you, but this is a moneysaving site after all!
There are quite a few really good quality brands that are loads cheaper than what you are paying especially as the Symply is only 12KG most are 15Kgs. The main one that springs to mind is Skinners some of their foods are better than others but if you look at their Field & Trial range they do an excellent Duck & Rice (approx £20 for 15KG) Salmon & Rice (£23) and Turkey and Rice (£26) too.

I'm not saying that Symply isn't a good food - just that it seems really expensive to me for what it is. And by the look of it the feeding guide on Skinners is less too so that would make it even more economical for you.
Maybe have a look and compare ingredients to what he is on now. Don't automatically think he's just doing good on Symply as anything would be an improvement on Supermarket brands ie. Asda!"Things can only get better.................c/o D:Ream #The 90's"
