has anyone ever regretted moving?

We live in a terraced house in a very quiet street. House is massive compared to a new build. Most neighbours are nice. Only downsides are no off-street parking and few episodes of vandalism on car. I never ever come back to the house thinking I wish I didn't live here.
We were looking to move into a semi or detached house on a lovely quiet estate. But the houses have much smaller rooms. The other upside is that my child's friends live in that street.
We have now considered just spending money extending and doing our house up, and making off street parking if BT will be so kind as to move telegraph pole blocking access.
I think I am seeing things through rose tinted glasses. What I was wondering if anyone had any stories which may jolt me into reality.

I've missed houses I've lived in but never regretted moving. I guess if you think of all the things one is glad to leave behind (no home or location is perfect) it makes the transition easierMortgage free I: 8th December 2009!

You may find your new place has hidden problems you just don't see - we moved from our 4 bed dtchd. with garage to where we are now, a more traditional semi - we didn't realise the lack of storage here and we've gone from practical, to a pretty house with rooms we just don't need.
How we ever thought we could live with the bathroom as it was and scruffy decor now baffles me. I've spent thousands getting it right and now we still want to move elsewhere - its on the market. Here's hoping I've learnt enough by this house to look for one without the rose tinted specs that suits us better next time.0 -
i have hated two houses i have lived in..the first one i bought when i was 18 was a brand new barrets house...i detested it..T he last one we lived in was too small for us and i got to hate it but it served its purpose while the market crashed and we got this house with four double bedrooms for a lot less.It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0
