post free on Ebay

I got the dreaded card through the door, "package with insuffcient postage to collect".
So I went down and paid for it, it actually had no stamps on at all and no sign that any had fallen off. Got home and checked it on Ebay and it was an item I bought advertised as post free.
Emailed the seller and got "sorry the stamps must have fallen off" , no offer to pay the postage and costs whatever.
I can neg him which is a bit severe as the goods were first rate but I can't mark down his postage cost dsrs as it was post free!

Ask the seller if they will pay the fees as this is their mistake and try and resolve this, as you are obviously happy with the goods so a neg is very harsh.
Just try to work it out with the seller. :)

How big was the package? small enough to pop in a post box without stamps, or too big so would have been posted via a post office?

If its to big to pop in a post box i wonder how it would of been processed with any postage.

Unless it was packaged in one of those plastic mailing bags, i can see how it would be possible for these to come unstuck.

I think the OP already has, by contacting the seller, who should have taken the opportunity to prevent a neg (rather being happy with suddenly find a big fat red doughnut on the feedback page...)

Did you ask the seller for the postage costs & the fee to cover it? If he paid for it he'll have the COP so with your receipt sent to him I believe
he can claim back from RM .

it was a small package that would have fitted in a standard Royal Mail box, the postage should have been £1.72 so I had to pay £2.72. I have suggested again that the seller recompense me but I can't say "or i'll neg you" as they would get it removed and I can't give any dsrs on postage.

I would ask him for the money back, failing that take out a paypal claim for a partial refund with a scan of the reciept for the postage you paid, they should sort it out for you, bit harsh leaving you out of pocket, failing that a negative feedback mainly to warn others and hopefully so he wont do it again

You can leave poor stars for communication and I would neg if they do not refund the RM charge you had to pay. A half decent seller should be sorting this out straight away and feedback is designed to warn others of sellers who won't.

The seller is taking the p*ss. Just leave a neg saying "the seller's idea of postage is no stamps!" and mark down the stars for description (i.e. the postage description!).
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

    This is a no-brainer.

Either they refund you the extra you paid in full OR you file a claim AND neg and low DSR them.

Clearly item is not as described - as the description did not say you had to pay postage at your end.

It was sold as 'free postage', unfortunately you didn't realise the seller meant their free postage.

Yep, get in touch with PP about postage refund.
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.
