Hi
I've held a Lloyds basic account for a year but it drives me mad that I can only withdraw cash in their machines and that you don't have a debit card. They refused to give me a debit card so I applied and was accepted for a
co-op cashminder with a debit card.
My question is should I close my Lloyds account? My plan initally was to keep having my wages paid into my Lloyd account and transfer over a spending figure to my new account. This would be great to keep spending and bills seperate but will it damage my relationship with both banks?
I hope that eventually Co-op would allow me to upgrade my account further as this is the bank I want to continue with long term, but if they don't see DDs and salary coming in would this reduce my chances?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions

Use the account to your advantage not theirs.
If you manage two accounts three or more it should not affect your ratings with the bank. What it will show is that you have managed your account for x many years without going overdrawn etc..The fact that your funds are actually at another bank won't make any difference.
You can always electronically transfer the funds between accounts online if it bothers you, then transfer the funds back again.0 -
cool thanks, it will be roughly £750 going through each account each month just no DD's on the new one0
