The charity may already be damaged. If it is now well known that the organiser won the main prize then people will be more inclined to stay away from a charity that may well be tainted.
I certainly wouldn't buy a ticket again if I thought it was fixed.

I tend to agree. Bringing it into the open may well be the best way to distance the charity from rumour and innuendo.
Was it a donated prize? If so does whoever donated it know who won it and under what circumstances?0
