    Think on this one !

"Your chances of being killed on a motorcycle are 42 times higher than that as a car passenger and 307 times higher than that as a rail passenger."

Maybe you would enjoy riding in the summer. Not so clever for a 36 week starting in September.

Good call, nothing worse than biking in the rain and the rain running down the top of the tank straight to your crotch, ugh

Did the bike commute in my younger days before I learn to drive, never again, fair weather rider now :D

  • Now i just looked on southern trains season ticket calculator and for the journey you want its coming up as £2668.10 for 9 months - thats £74.11 a week..
Now this is only a brighton to london zones 1-6

No that is the season fare to Clapham Junction, to zones 2-6 will be £2882.40, zones 1-6 will be £3041.30. I reccomend a ticket to zones 2-6 and take a number 37 bus from Clapham Junction station, it's either the fastest route or not much slower.

Also note 36 weeks is not 9 calendar months, it's more like 8 months, so check the dates and buy tickets for each term so you are not paying for not travelling.

Don't forget the time aspect - you may be able to use time on the train for studying / reading / listening to music / eating breakfast etc.

It would be MUCH cheaper, trains have terrible fuel consumption.

    ;)
