Eh? I've seen "70" signs about twice in my life...they always use the NSL sign...0 -
The majority getting it wrong doesn't make it right.
Sometimes, all you get is the blue rectangular information sign telling you are entering a motorway and what one it is. OK, it could be argued that this sign is enough to intimate that a speed limit of 70mph applies.
But there are no provisions within Direction 8 of the TSRGD that exempt "special roads" (ie. motorways) from the requirement to provide a pair of signs to Diagram 670 at the start of a speed limit. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -

Cheers
Well that's interesting, and everyone around me when I was there was also doing 50 past all the specs and under all the gantries (which displayed nothing), no-one dared to go over 50. This was a Saturday afternoon. At the end of the specs everyone went up to 70.
I was complaining to OH at the time that they have these F'ing gantries and not one of them is actually displaying what the F'ing speed limit is!
Interesting S. Leak, I will confirm in the TSRGD and may end up writing a letter to Newport Council & to say the speed limit should be on ALL the gantries not just the first one.0 -

That'll just freak people out who know how to drive properly...they'll be going "national speed limit!? That's what I was doing already!!"0 -
There is (Or was) a sign there saying that it operated an average speed system?I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0

So they have turned the cameras off then?
It doesn't actually say they have been turned off.0
