We had our kitchen floor screeded last week, on top of wet ufh system, how long do we have to wait until we can tile over this and is there anything we need to do first? We also have ufh in bathroom but this is just covered with tile backer board. Anything we need to do before tiling? Thanks

The general rule is 1mm a day on a screed with a wet ufh system you need to run the heating once the screed is dry to allow for initial expansion then allow the system to cool before priming and tiling. Certain screeds need specific preparation such as Gyvlon and some tilers recommend using a decoupling membrane on heated screeds particularly if using a stone tile.

On commercial jobs they ramp the heating up from a low level over a period of time (i.e 5 degrees a day or so), this reduces the risk of cracking. The screed supplier and or underfloor heating supplier should be able to give you recommendations for how quickly you can ramp up the temp.I have a lot of problems with my neighbours, they hammer and bang on the walls sometimes until 2 or 3 in the morning - some nights I can hardly hear myself drilling
