in Credit cards
For the first time in my life I have been charged a £12 late fee on my credit card. I am unsure how it happened as I paid through online banking as I always do.
Can I contest this?

What was the statement date and when was the date that you initiated the transfer ? (Also, did you do it in the evening, after 3:30 or whatever the cutof for same day is) ?0

Don't you have a DD setup to pay the min balance?
In all likelyhood they've changed the date and you've not realised, or you've been lucky previously in that the funds reached the account 'just in time.'
Of course you can contest this, but a polite phone call to them explaining the situation, and pointing out it's your first 'offense' may get you a refund.Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries0 -
I will go down the route Paul suggests. Thanks to all for the advice.0

Extremely unlikely you will get it back. HBOS policy on credit card fees is to only refund if it's a bank error. Which is only fair, to be honest. Just leave a few extra days next time or set up a direct debit as previously suggested.0

I have drafted my letter. This card is actually a tart card which the 0% is due to run out next month so if they don't refund, I will simply pay the balance in full and ask them to close the account.0
