Just means that it hasn't been run with administrator priveleges, which you ought to do.
If you've installed Hijackthis and it's within the Start Menu, you should be able to right click on the icon and select 'Run as' (current user) or 'Run as Administrator'. You can also right click and click properties, then in the Compatibility tab set the shortcut to always 'Run this program as an Administrator.'0 -
Thanks mate, here is my file, can you see if there's anything horrible in there please?

Looks okay to me Grampus. Are you just doing a cleanup?
Just so you know, ClearCloud just announced that they are going to stop the free DNS service on the 1st of September. Personally I'll stick at it until then, and possibly try DynDNS or one of the alternatives.
Can untick these in Start > Msconfig > Startups (don't need the ClearCloud utility running once you've set it going)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SunJavaUpdateSched] "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Java\Java Update\jusched.exe"
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SSClearCloudTrayApp] C:\Program Files (x86)\ClearCloud\ClearCloud DNS\SBCC_Utility_Tray.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [iTunesHelper] "C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\iTunesHelper.exe"
There are some other startup entries you might want to tick or untick depending on what you need to start up, but use google to check first, e.g. Acer Arcade Deluxe
Can go into Hijackthis and Check and Fix these:
O4 - HKUS\S-1-5-19\..\Run: [Sidebar] %ProgramFiles%\Windows Sidebar\Sidebar.exe /autoRun (User 'LOCAL SERVICE')
O4 - HKUS\S-1-5-19\..\RunOnce: [mctadmin] C:\Windows\System32\mctadmin.exe (User 'LOCAL SERVICE')
O4 - HKUS\S-1-5-20\..\Run: [Sidebar] %ProgramFiles%\Windows Sidebar\Sidebar.exe /autoRun (User 'NETWORK SERVICE')
O4 - HKUS\S-1-5-20\..\RunOnce: [mctadmin] C:\Windows\System32\mctadmin.exe (User 'NETWORK SERVICE')
O4 - Global Startup: Microsoft Office.lnk = C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office10\OSA.EXE
Personally I would go into Start > type services.msc and enter, then set each of these to Manual. Apple sets them all running the whole time, whether or not most people will ever use all of them:
O23 - Service: Apple Mobile Device - Apple Inc. - C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\AppleMobileDeviceService.exe
O23 - Service: Bonjour Service - Apple Inc. - C:\Program Files (x86)\Bonjour\mDNSResponder.exe
O23 - Service: iPod Service - Apple Inc. - C:\Program Files\iPod\bin\iPodService.exe
And again I'd set this one to Manual, and next time you restart then confirm that games still work correctly that use it:
O23 - Service: PnkBstrA - Unknown owner - C:\Windows\system32\PnkBstrA.exe
I would set these to Disabled in services.msc myself:
O23 - Service: Google Update Service (gupdate) (gupdate) - Google Inc. - C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Update\GoogleUpdate.exe
O23 - Service: Google Update Service (gupdatem) (gupdatem) - Google Inc. - C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Update\GoogleUpdate.exe0 -
Thanks chums, that was what i wanted to hear. Russ, will you go to DynDNS?0

A question for RussJK:
What exactly do the following three things do:
O23 - Service: Apple Mobile Device - Apple Inc. - C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\AppleMobileDeviceService.exe
O23 - Service: Bonjour Service - Apple Inc. - C:\Program Files (x86)\Bonjour\mDNSResponder.exe
O23 - Service: iPod Service - Apple Inc. - C:\Program Files\iPod\bin\iPodService.exe
1st one I assume is for iphone connections, bonjour I've never figured out (apple waffles on the website), third one for ipod connections? (Might go and disable the first two on my computer too...)0 -

O23 - Service: iPod Service - Apple Inc. - C:\Program Files\iPod\bin\iPodService.exe
As best as I can tell:
Ituneshelper.exe is for burning CDs from iTunes, and it runs all the time by default from the autostarts. Running ituneshelper.exe will also start the Ipod Service.
AppleMobileDeviceService.exe is so iTunes can interact with iPhones/iPads/iPods. Some claim to have no trouble syncing iTunes without this service running.
Bonjour/mDNSResponder.exe - is so iTunes can find music over the network, or for broadcasting music over the network. Also for Apple TV.
iPodService.exe - is required to sync the iPod/iPad/iPhone with iTunes. It's started automatically when iTuneshelper.exe is run.
The problem is that iTunes will automatically override your choices even when you disable a service or remove an autostart entry. For example, apparently ipodservice.exe will run even if it is set to Disabled under services.msc or unticked in msconfig > services. Similarly, the ituneshelper autostart will be restored after a few times running iTunes.
The solution is to manually rename (or delete) the file in question, and then create a blank text file and rename it to replace the original filename:
C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\iTunesHelper.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\AppleMobileDeviceService.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\Bonjour\mDNSResponder.exe
c:\Program Files\iPod\bin\iPodservice.exe
Alternatively, when installing iTunes, apparently the itunes.msi installer can be extracted and installed by itself without all the extra bloat. You can also just install Quicktime Lite for just the browser plugin instead of the full Quicktime bloat package.
A third option might be to alter the permissions of the files, to deny access to them.0
