I've had a real problem with the Marks and Spencer chargecard call centre the last couple of days.

I called yesterday to clear my balance, they obviously were not confident in their job, and told me the incorrect amount. I only discovered this when I received a letter from them today. It was only small amounts £9 in total, but still annoying.

Called back to speak to a supervisor today, and was put on hold for 8 minutes. The supervisor was not much better.
The call centre is in Manila, it would be so much easier to speak to someone in the U.K. :(

.... In fact I had such terrible customer service from them, I closed my account in the end...they tried to keep me, but by then I had had enough..

    Useless..

My experience with M&S credit card customer "support" has not been terribly good either. I only got one because of the reward points, but it's hardly worth it for the meagre points they actually give you! I definitely wouldn't recommend them to anyone wanting a credit card. x

M&S credit card 0% interest for 15 months on spending or the travellers cheque loophole to obtain a cash loan with just a small one off 1% fee then at 0% for 15 months.

You wouldn't recommend them, get outta here.

OP are we talking a CC here or an actual chargecard. If it's a credit card, it could well have been difficult to calculate the interest, which is why you had a small amount to pay.

A lot of people try to pay their credit cards in full and because of the way interest is worked out there is still usually a small amount of residual interest to pay the next month.

It's an actual chargecard. I wouldn't mind speaking to someone 6000 miles away if they did a great job. These ladies were very polite, but they just did not seem at all efficient.

Thank goodness I usually use AMEX, who have an excellent UK call centre.
