RBS selling to Santander?

So, The Royal Bank of Scotland aka RBS announced last year that it will sell 318 branches and associated assets and liabilities ("the business") to Santander UK plc ("Santander") for a premium of GBP350 million.

The consideration will be paid in cash and is subject to certain closing adjustments, including those relating to the performance of the business. The transaction is currently expected to be completed...by December 2011. Hmmm, what do you think of that? :think:

I think it's a bit of a shame if RBS customers end up benefiting from Santander's super service record.

Is there a reason for your C&P post? Do you have a view on it, perhaps?

There're several other posts on this subject. I think the timing has slipped to the first part of next year. Many customers have already moved their account to Scottish branches.
