Stuck on Firefox

I wonder if someone can advise me....my laptop is stuck on Firefox, the program is not responding. I have opened task manager and tried to end task but it does not work. I have tried to restart the laptop but it loaded up the firefox with the same website - with the same problem. That is the extent of my ideas - any suggestions what I might try next please?

    then uninstall it

Some "brain box" thought it would be a good idea to have it re-boot tabs if it crashes, just what they were smoking at the time I will never know.
They have ruined the best browser on the net, I went back to the older "working" version

Thats what history is for, unfortunately if its a link with a virus or trojan you get stuck in a never ending loop of death.

I tried but its not in the start up menu....??

I then tried to reinstall in but, it requires me to close the Firefox which, of course, I am unable to do...

You can disable it - explained here:

    http://kb.mozillazine.org/Session_Restore

I have not tried disabling personally, but I totally agree with you about the re-booting of tabs.

Edit: Just tried it - hope it doesn't make Firefox go screwy!

Start your laptop up in to Safe Mode

You can then disable Firefox Session Restore from there.

    Stilltheone ......

    Phew sorted!

Thank you very much indeed. I was thinking that an expensive visit to the computer repair shop was looming.

Using Google Chrome from now on.
