I agree they will eventually be phased out, just not right now or in the very near future...When I joined, I needed a name. The forum members gave one to me...I am INAN

I held a Barclays Cash Card accoun through BR. Upon discharge I first performed the "Post Bankruptcy Credit File Cleanup".
This is a gruelling process as it takes a lot of writing to all creditors and chasing them up, as well as raising notices of dispute with all three CRAs against incorrect data.
Once this was done I got a Vanquis VISA card. Six months after that I was approved for a full Barclays Bank Account. However, two weeks after opening it, they closed it without telling me why. They also closed my Cash Card accounts. Never incurred a penny charges and always had good turnover. So who knows?
Fast Forward to now, and I have a full HSBC Current Account with #100 CGC and #500 overdraft which I was approved for 18 months after discharge from BR. I've had it for nine months now and am very much happier with HSBC than LTSB or Barclays.Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

How easy was it to get the HSBC account? Did you have to ask them to appeal a rejection decision? When I joined, I needed a name. The forum members gave one to me...I am INAN

Nop, applied online and got a letter through three days later saying Welcome!
No ID, no proof, nothing. Just a signiature.
It should be noted that I ran two sub prime cards for over a year prior to applying for it. You've really got to get the default dates corrected and marked as settled, then grab a Vanquis, and a contract phone - Three SIM Zero was what I went for, and wait a good year before applying elsewhere but by then you could be OK.Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

Hi,I was discharged on 7/6/2011 and took a screen copy of my discharge from the Insolvency Service to my Barclays branch yesterday and they were fine with it - they will send it off to their bankruptcy team via the post to update. They told me that I should get confirmation in about a week or so then can setup.
Just got to wait, all I want to do is check my account online instead of going to the Barclays cashpoint every other day to check my mini statements......
I was discharged on the 08/06/2011. How did you get a screen copy of your discharge?
When I called the official reciever they told me that I wouldn't have any confirmation saying that I had been discharged, they just said that it would automatically happen on the 8th!0 -
