Pc worlds is showing £129.99, damn i miss all the bargains
Dammit, you are right. I was on the brink of buying it just the other day at £99, but now they can go and stick it . . .

Another £30 profit over and above the huge markup they had at £99, no way josé.
The bankers stole my pension (and everyone else's). It should have earned a lot of money, but they took their bonus pot first.
  • Just for anyone interested, PC Woe's sister company, Dixons (hock, spit . . . . tink!) are doing the Medion for £119.99

  • Taken the plunge and just ordered the Navman F20 from Tecno for £129 (Thanks gd2)

I must admit, spec looks much more impressive and looks good all round.

Be aware that to plug your Navman F20 in to your computer you need to spend another £20 to get the kit!! Most satnavs come with it automatically.
You will need this because at some stage you'll want to update it or add speed cameras perhaps.

Note where it says 'Nearest POI/POI import (using optional Connectivity Kit)'
  • Hmmmm interesting Boatman, didn't realise that.

I know there's an add-on for "real time traffic info" but I assumed that was only if you wanted to go for that option.

I'm not too concerned about camera updates, there are standard UK signs warning of everywhere they might be placed anyway.

    They look like this
or this , quite easy to spot really.

I'll have to investigate if you can update other map info to them from that thar SD card slot in the side.

Just bought a Navman F20 fro £139. The whole presentation and quality is far superior to my Tomtom One. My experience of Tomtom Customer service is poor and upgrades are expensive. Looking at the spec of the Medion it ticks all the boxes and at half the price of the Tomtom is a bargain.
I got one of these for xmas. Ordered the T1 (traffic update attachment - no subs needed) from Amazon for £54.

Only problem I've found is that it has problems keping up with DH on the motorway.

Am I the only one who is getting overwhelmed with the sheer choice available to consumers ?

I mean it's a good thing to have the choice but my head hurts trying to identify what makes one product better than another.

I had the same problem last year when I was in the hunt for a DVD/HD recorder and now find myself struggling again with SatNavs.

Firstly, there are so many models offering pretty much the same features. At the end of the day most consumers simply want a Sat Nav that's reliable and upto date. I don't give a rat's !!!! if you can play MP3's with it or if it has a camera.

Secondly, ever since someone suggested I should buy a PDA with Sat Nav capablities I have been thrown into a deeper dilemma :( A PDA offers more flexibility that a dedicated Sat Nav and is more portable so why is it that Sat Nav's are on the verge of being top of many people's 2007 Xmas List whilst PDA's are considered just for geeks ?

Thirdly, Nokia are bringing their new smartphone the Nokia N95 in the first quarter of 2007. This nifty little device will also have Sat Nav capability.

    Decisions, decisions !

Me too!  :( All I want is a Sat Nav thats reliable, easy to use, that has/can upload speed cameras, etc. I dont care about European maps for once in a blue moon or traffic updates   :j
  • The Navman F20 is exceptional. I have a different Navman (handheld PDA one) and bought my better half the F20 for crimbo - it is outstanding.
Far better than my one - so simple and easy to use, but still having all the other features if you need them.

All pre-installed to make instant plug and play. Speed cameras built in, navigation excellent (not just at the roundabout 3rd exit - but full detail on road and all kinds).

Really good bit of kit, that can also be upgraded.
As for connecting to your CPU - you really will not need to!
Also nice and small so you can unclip it and pop it in your pocket.

Sat connection time is almost instant and also has very advanced sat detection - so much so that it actually works inside my house!!

For 130-140 GBP it is the only sat nav to consider - I promise you will not be disappointed.

Also Navman customer service are outstanding! I can;t speak highly enough about this entry level sat nav - it puts many more expensive models to shame!
    Play up Pompey!
