Images not displayed in emails received

Hi,
My laptop completed its windows updates last week and one of the updates was internet explorer 9. Since the update any emails i receive do not display any images. I am using windows live mail. Is there anyway i can change this so that images are displayed?

Thanks

It's not that great an idea to routinely display images in emails.. If they are remotely located images, referenced in an HTML email through an <img src> tag, this allows an attacker to identify your IP address, and can be used to tell him that you have opened the email.

I have the mail client configured so that remote located images are only downloaded when I click to say 'yes'. This way I can check first that the sender of the email is trusted.

Thats how mine was set up but since the update i no longer have the option on the email which says display images or always dispaly images from this sender.

    Wot he said.
The default in Thunderbird is not to open images.
Showing images is almost as bad as clicking on links in emails!
