Hi
I have received my valuation from the bank for a house I am buying. The matter affecting valuation is that "aspects of the electrical installation are a potential safety hazard and you should obtain specialist advice." Does this mean that I should change the wiring in the house. It is outdated.
Also, the valuation is exactly how much I bought it for. Does this mean that it was a good buy?

No it means exactly what it says: you should get a properly qualified electrician in to inspect the wiring, and then produce a periodic inspection report on it. You will then see if there are any items needing urgent action.0 -
Our last house had a lot of electric problems & we were planning to totally rewire it ONLY because we wanted to let it out and it wasn't up to scratch for that. Just because it's outdated doesn't necessarily mean it all needs to be rewired. Get a couple of sparky's to look at it & give their opinion.
